Yesterday, mobile phone carrier Verizon Wireless started to sell a new high-end Android-based smartphone, namely the HTC One, and it seems that those who purchased it are in for a treat.

The phone comes with an unlockable bootloader, which means that one can easily install custom ROMs on it.

To unlock the device, users will have to go to the HTCDev website, a thread on the XDA-Developers forum unveils.

Those interested in loading unofficial software on their devices can also download and install ClockworkMod Recovery Touch on their Verizon-branded HTC One, provided that they have already unlocked it.

Users interested in the matter should head over to the aforementioned forum thread to learn more on the unlocking process and on how they can install the aforementioned custom recovery on HTC One.
