Owners of a Galaxy Nexus smartphone on the airwaves of Verizon Wireless haven’t yet had the chance to get a taste of the latest flavor of Google’s Android operating system, Jelly Bean.

Their GSM brothers have been enjoying the new OS flavor for a few weeks now, yet Google and Verizon are not yet ready to deliver the update to the LTE flavor of the smartphone.

However, those who are willing to root their devices can now load them with the pure Google experience that Android 4.1 Jelly Bean has to offer.

A ROM compiled based on the AOSP builds that Google made available recently is now available for download through the XDA-Developers, namely Jelly Bean 4.1.1 - Build JRO03L.

Before hitting the download link, however, keep in mind that you will be the only ones responsible if the handset is harmed in any way during the installation process.
