Mobile phone carrier Verizon Wireless is gearing up for the launch of a new Android-based smartphone with support for its 4G LTE network, namely the Casio Commando 4G LTE.

The handset, still unannounced as of now, has already made an appearance online, in a leaked press photo available courtesy of @evleaks. As the image shows, Casio Commando 4G LTE will run under Google’s Android operating system.

The handset did emerge online before, and even received the necessary approvals from the FCC, featuring support for the carrier’s 4G LTE network; yet, the rest of its specifications are unknown at the moment.

However, as droid-life notes, the handset should hit shelves with dustproof and waterproof certification, though it is not expected to prove a high-end smartphone in the end. Stay tuned for more info on the matter.
