This is the second US-based carrier to offer the update, after Sprint

Shortly after Sprint kicked off the rollout of Android 4.4.2 KitKat update for HTC One, another US-based carrier did the same thing, Verizon.

We reported earlier today that the Big Red approved the KitKat build received from HTC and confirmed that the rollout would begin shortly.

Well, it looks like it only took the carrier a few hours to make the update available, as lots of Verizon HTC One owners report that they have already been able to upgrade to Android 4.4.2 KitKat.

Aside from bringing the software to version 4.4.2, the update adds some new features and improvements, along with the HTC Sense 5.5 UI.

BlinkFeed, improved Highlights management, simpler lock screen widget setup, along with camera low light enhancements and redesigned gallery app, are just some of the goodies included in this update.

Keep in mind that Android 4.4.2 KitKat for Verizon HTC One is pushed OTA (over the air), so it may take several hours until it reaches all users.
