A new software update for Verizon Galaxy Nexus is in the works. We already reported about a month ago that Verizon was hard at work to deliver a fix for the signal drop issue.

Dubbed IMM76Q, the software update appeared for the first time several weeks ago when an XDA forum user received it on its Galaxy Nexus device.

In addition, Verizon Galaxy Nexus users also reported they’ve been informed by the carrier they will soon receive a minor update meant to fix the signal drop problem. We’re not sure if the update includes any other changes though.

This will probably be one of the last updates before the Galaxy Nexus receives the next major upgrade to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, which was recently promised by Google. Stay tuned for more info on the matter.
