It appears that Verizon plans to make its latest Android phones more attractive for people who are travelling a lot outside the country. The carrier confirmed that it was working on a few network enhancements that will make it possible for some of these smartphones to be used as roaming devices.

The folks of PhoneScoop have been told by a Verizon official that the carrier expects to be able to enable global roaming for those devices that are delivered with the necessary hardware component, sometime in the first half of the year.

According to them, LG Spectrum and Motorola DROID 4, which already contain hidden global roaming capabilities, will be the first devices to have this capability enabled in the coming months.

Aside from the two smartphones mentioned above there’s no telling which Verizon smartphones will get the global roaming capability enabled in the near future.
