The carrier claims the update will be pushed by Samsung

It’s been several months since Verizon Galaxy Nexus received its last major update. As a matter of fact, the smartphone is stuck on Android 4.1.1 (JRO03O) since September 2012, the date it got its latest upgrade through Verizon.

This means that Verizon Galaxy Nexus owners are now four updates behind the GSM version of the device.

Obviously, this is annoying for Verizon customers who seem to have made a mistake in choosing the Big Red as their main carrier.

Hopefully, the situation will turn favorable pretty soon for Galaxy Nexus owners as Verizon has somewhat confirmed the smartphone is about to receive an important software update.

According to a tweet recently posted on Verizon’s official account, “Samsung will push the update directly to your device over the air. Sorry, no release date. But, it will be soon.” That’s about it, folks, so stay tuned for more info on this one.
