Windows Phone 8.1 has just been released by Microsoft in the form of a Developer Preview and the first application especially designed to work on devices powered by this platform slowly make their way into Windows Phone Store.

The folks over at WPCentral report the first video editing application that is fully compatible with Windows Phone 8.1 is called Movie Maker.

The application has been recently published on Windows Phone Store and allows users to trim, crop and split any video from the phone’s video library or the camera.

The application also offers users the possibility to copy, paste and delete clips at any position, as well as use simple playback controls to review clips.

Once you complete editing your video, you will be able to save either on the phone’s memory or on the SD card. Other features offered by Movie Maker include the possibility to extract MP3 files from a video, along with the option to add slow motion effects x10.

You can now download Movie Maker for Windows Phone 1.1.2.2 for $1.49 via Windows Phone Store. Keep in mind that the application is only compatible with Windows Phone 8.1 devices. A free trial version is available for download as well.
