TextPlus for Windows Phone, the application that allows users to send short text messages to any US and Canadian mobile number for free, has just been updated to support the latest handsets powered by Microsoft’s mobile platform.

Basically, the update brings support for Windows Phone 8 devices, so Nokia Lumia 920, 820 and 620 owners, as well as those of any other phone powered by WP8, will be able to take advantage of the application’s offering.

Aside from that, developers have not provided any other improvements to the application, but we expect more enhancements to be included in future updates.

The new TextPlus 1.5.1.51 is now available as a free download via Windows Phone Store and it should be fully compatible with all devices running Windows Phone 7.5 and up. Check it out here.
