14 DAY TRIAL // Canadian carrier TELUS plans to increase its customer database, which is why it has decided to get rid of some taxes that most think are unnecessary.
The folks over at MobileSyrup have just got their hands on a TELUS internal document, which confirms the carrier’s plans to waive the activation and renewal fees as of October 15. There’s no mention of this move being a promotional offer, so we must assume the carrier wants to make it definitive.
Customers who activate on TELUS are required to pay a $35 CAD “Activation Fee.” The “Renewal Fee” for equipment exchange is currently set to $25 CAD.
TELUS is the first major carrier in Canada that will remove these fees, but we expect Rogers and Bell to follow soon, so stay tuned for more updates on the matter.
