Canadian carrier TELUS announced earlier this year that it would invest around $22 million (around 17 million EUR) in Manitoba, in order to expand its 4G network coverage for consumers, businesses and healthcare providers.

True to its promise, the carrier has just announced that its dual-cell towers are now turned on in Selkirk, Victoria Beach and Steinbach, which will cover six new locations.

It appears that TELUS 4G services are now covering Selkirk, Victoria Beach, Lockport, Ste. Anne, Steinbach and along Highway 1 to Portage la Prairie.

In addition, the carrier has also confirmed that full 4G network coverage will be available in Portage la Prairie in early 2012, while service to Brandon is expected to go live next summer.

TELUS’ 4G wireless network is one of the fastest in Canada with manufacturer’s rated peak download speed of up to 42 Mbps.
