Wireless services provider T-Mobile USA might begin the roll-out of its LTE network as soon as next year.

In a press release announcing its financial results for the fourth quarter of the last year, the company said that it would begin the deployment after receiving AWS spectrum from AT&T. The transaction with AT&T is subject to FCC approval.

If all goes according to plan, Magenta will be able to start the deployment of long-term evolution (LTE) services on its AWS spectrum in 2013, but the specific timeframe has yet to be determined.

“This anticipated network transformation will significantly enhance coverage and performance for customers,” the wireless carrier noted. T-Mobile plans a $4 billion investment to strengthen its current 4G network through installing equipment at 37,000 cell sites and rolling out HSPA+ in the PCS (1900) spectrum band.
