The wait is over for T-Mobile customers who own the HTC Amaze 4G as the carrier has just announced the immediate availability of the Ice Cream Sandwich update.

Android version 4.0.3, software version 2.14.531.3710RD is now pushed OTA (over the air) to all HTC Amaze 4G units. Those who have yet to be notified on the update can check for it manually by going to Settings / About phone / HTC software updates / Check now.

It is recommended to back up all personal information stored on the smartphone before flashing the new update. Make sure the phone’s battery is at least 50% charged and that the Wi-Fi connection is stable.

Android 4.0.3 ICS will also update the HTC Sense UI to version 3.6, and it will bring the following new features and improvements: system bar enhancements, re-sizeable widgets, data usage controls, Face Unlock, home screen folders and improved battery life.
