Square Enix launched Final Fantasy VI on Google Play Store last week, but players have reported that the game is plagued by a critical issue that does not allow them to advance into the story.

The game breaking bug has been an annoyance for those who paid good money for Final Fantasy VI for several days now, but Square Enix promised that an update would address the issue.

Well, it looks like the update has been officially pushed onto Google Play, so those who already have the game installed on their Android devices should check for it.

According to the official changelog, the update fixes an issue that caused the game to crash during the cutscene showing the fight between Kefka and General Leo. In addition, the icon for Sabin's Blitz ability is now displayed correctly.

Other changes mentioned in the update include a misspelling of the term “Esper” which has been corrected, as well as various minor bugs.

You can now download Final Fantasy VI for Android 1.0.1 for £10.99/€14.99/$17.99 via Google Play. Keep in mind that the game should be fully compatible with most devices powered by Android 3.2 and up.
