Wireless carrier Sprint is reportedly gearing up for the launch of its 4G LTE service in Boston and Chicago next week, as part of its nationwide network upgrade plans.

The company has already confirmed plans to make the network available in over 100 markets in the coming months, but IT did not offer specific timeframes for the expansion.

However, leaked info that emerged over at Engadget suggests that Boston and Chicago will receive the LTE connectivity on September 21st, in time for the launch of Apple’s new iPhone model.

Sprint’s LTE network will become discoverable on that day in both areas, though it remains to be seen whether that will involve a full launch or not.

Before the end of the next year, Sprint should have a nationwide LTE network up and running.
