Starting today, the Android 4.4 KitKat operating system is rolling out to the owners of Samsung Galaxy S4 smartphones on the network of wireless carrier Sprint.

Yesterday, the update was said to start arriving on this smartphone soon, and Sprint has already announced its availability as version JDQ39.L720VPUFNAE.

However, the rollout will be a staged one, which means that some users will have to wait for a few days before it arrives on their devices.

According to Sprint, the new software update will provide users with Zact Mobile compatibility, as well as with the enhancements and features that were included in the Android 4.4 KitKat OS.

“Customers should no longer receive ‘Prevention Information - An application has been forced to stop for an unauthorized attempt to access system in your device. It may be safe to delete an application obtained from an unauthorized route. Check now?’ alert messages on the device,” Sprint notes.

You can manually check on the availability of the update by going to Settings > About phone > Software updates.
