The update is meant to bring some LTE UI enhancements

The latest smartphones added by Sprint to its Android portfolio, Samsung Galaxy Mega, Galaxy S4 mini and HTC One max are not receiving a minor update.

As AndroidPolice points out, the changelog for all three updates contains a single line and confirms it only brings some LTE UI enhancements.

Basically, after applying the update, all three smartphones will be compatible with Sprint's tri-band LTE network, which is now available only in several cities. Dubbed Sprint Spark, the tri-band LTE network will allow users to reach download speeds of up to 50-60 Mbps.

Sprint announced a few days ago that HTC One max would be the first smartphone to support its Spark tri-band LTE network out of the box, but it appears that wasn't entirely accurate and the devices needs an OTA update to enable this feature.

Keep in mind the minor update is pushed OTA (over the air) in stages, so it might take a while until it reaches all three smartphones.
