Sony Mobile is finally getting closer to the release of a new version of its gaming console, and it seems that it plans on making it available alongside a companion app for Android and iOS devices.

The PS4 PlayStation mobile client will provide users with the possibility to transform their smartphones into remote controllers for the console.

Furthermore, it will also enable them to turn the handsets into second screens for the device, though only with compatible titles, polygon reports.

Additionally, the software will allow them to connect with their friends, view PSN Trophy information, and access the PlayStation Store. Facebook and Twitter integration will also be included in the upcoming mobile client.

A What's New feature included in the mobile application will enable smartphone owners to interact with PlayStation Network information.
