Japanese mobile phone maker Sony Mobile is reportedly gearing up for the launch of a large smartphone running under Android, the first in its lineup, namely the Xperia ZU, where U is said to stand for Ultra.

Spotted online before as Togari, the smartphone should pack a 6.4-inch touchscreen and should be running under Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, with a new UI loaded on top.

According to a recent article on vr-zone, no specific info on what the new interface will be all about has been provided as of now, but all might become official on June 25.

Most probably, Sony will enhance some of the features that it launched along with Xperia Z, such as the lock screen, SocialLife, STAMINA Mode and Small Apps (see the screenshots attached), though it remains to be seen what exactly that would involve.
