Today, Sony announced the roll-out of the Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich OS upgrade for its Xperia S users in Australia.

The company started to push the update to its users roughly two weeks ago, and it is now making it available for those living down under as well.

Users will receive notifications from their wireless carriers regarding the availability of the update, and they will be able to grab it right away. They can also check on the availability of the upgrade by going to Settings > About Phone > Software Update.

“Great news, the software upgrade for Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich on Xperia S has begun. Your network providers will send a SMS notification directly to your phone when the upgrade is available to download,” Sony announced on Facebook.

ICS will bring various enhancements to Xperia S, including some new applications from Sony. Learn more on it via this link.
