It’s not unusual for Sony to offer purple models

Back in September 2014, Sony rolled out the Xperia Z3 flagship which was made available in Copper, Black, White and Silver-Green.

Following its own tradition installed by models such as the Xperia Z, Z Ultra, Z1 and Z2, Sony might be prepping a purple version of the flagship too. At least that’s what ePrice is saying.

According to the report, the handset should launch in time for the Lunar New Year, which takes place on February 19.

The Xperia Z3 is a handset built around a 5.2-inch IPS LCD Triluminous display with 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution.

The smartphone is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor clocked at 2.5GHz and Adreno 330 GPU. The model is fitted with a consistent 3GB of RAM and either 16GB/32GB of internal storage (expandable via microSD card up to 128GB).

The handset dons a 20.7MP snapper with LED flash on the back, while the front is home to a 2.2MP snapper.

Sony’s flagship is offered with Android 4.4.4 KitKat out of the box, but the company has made promises that the update to Android 5.0 Lollipop is in the pipeline. We should keep an eye out for it starting this February.

Sony is also expected to roll out the Xperia Z4 handset in the upcoming months.
