Japanese mobile phone maker Sony Mobile is gearing up for the release of its Xperia Z2 flagship handset in more markets around the world before the end of this month, and Mexico will be one of them, it seems.

Apparently, Sony has already sent out invitations to the handset’s launch event in the country, which will take place on May 20, though no details on the phone’s availability there have been provided as of now.

However, a recent report coming from xataka suggests that the device might be priced at around 11,999 Pesos ($920/€660) when released.

Apparently, the Sony Xperia Z2 will be available in Mexico exclusively through Telcel in the beginning, though Iusacell and Movistar are also expected to receive it a few months later.

Xperia Z2 went official in February at the MWC 2014 show in Barcelona, Spain, and arrives on shelves with a 5.2-inch full HD screen, a 2.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon processor, and 3GB of RAM.

Moreover, the handset packs a 20.7-megapixel camera on the back, along with front camera for video calling, 16GB of internal memory, a microSD memory card slot, and Google’s Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system loaded on top. Stay tuned for more on the phone’s arrival in Mexico.
