Sony might face a series of issues with component supply

One of the high-end smartphones that were made official last month during the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain, was the Sony Xperia Z2, which was said to arrive on shelves starting this month, but which might face delays all around the world.

The info comes from a user on the Esato forum, who claims that Sony is facing issues with component supplies, and who also notes that the phone might not arrive on the market before late April or early May.

Apparently, Sony will have only a limited Xperia Z2 stock available initially, though it’s yet uncertain whether it will make it available all in one country or in more of them.

Unfortunately, no specific details on when we might see the device landing on shelves have been provided as of now, though Sony might make an official announcement on the matter in the not too distant future.

However, there’s no confirmation on Sony actually expecting delays of the device for the time being, and it remains to be seen whether the report will pan out, as PhoneArena notes. In the meantime, we’ll take it with a grain of salt.

In the event that it will indeed get delayed, Xperia Z2 could face a similar fate with as the HTC One last year, which was plagued with component supply problems, and which saw low initial sales due to that.
