The smartphone will be priced at NT$22,900 ($766 / €580)

Sony’s newly announced Xperia Z Ultra smartphone is set to become available for purchase in Taiwan before the end of this month, Sony Mobile Communications Taiwan has confirmed.

According to a recent report from DigiTimes, the company announced plans to release the phone in the country at NT$22,900 ($766 / €580), with pre-orders available starting tomorrow at Chunghwa Telecom, Taiwan Mobile, Far EasTone Telecommunications, and Vibo Telecom.

Xperia Z Ultra arrives on shelves with a 6.4-inch full HD touchscreen, a 2.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal memory, and a microSD memory card slot.

Furthermore, the handset packs an 8-megapixel photo snapper on the back and a 2MP front camera, is IP55/IP58 dust- and water-proof certified, and is only 6.5mm thin. Sony loaded Google’s Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS on this mobile phone.
