It looks like Sony Mobile is likely to introduce another mid-range Android smartphone in India, the Xperia T3. However, the device is rumored to arrive later on rather than in the next few weeks.

Sources familiar with Sony’s plans have told 91mobiles that the Xperia T3 will be launched in India in the fourth week of July. In fact, the tipster also claims that the smartphone will be available for purchase beginning July 28 or sometime around that date.

It’s also worth mentioning that Sony will add a SmartBand SWR10 to the package, so all customers who purchase the Xperia T3 will also receive the previously mentioned device for free.

The SmartBand that is offered for free is worth Rs 5,990 ($100 / €70), but there are no details on the outright price of the Sony Xperia T3 in India yet.

However, we do know that the smartphone will ship with Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system out of the box. The Xperia T3 does not offer dual-SIM capability, which is a major downside over other smartphones in the same spec range.

Potential customers should know that the Xperia T3 is equipped with a decent 1.4GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, 1GB of RAM and 8GB of storage, which can be further expanded up to 32GB.

It also sports a large 5.3-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display that supports HD (720p) resolution, as well as an 8-megapixel photo snapper on the back, which features autofocus LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording.
