As expected, Sony Xperia S has just gone live in Canada. The smartphone is now available from official Sony Stores for as low as $99.99 CAD with select Rogers’ voice and data plans.

According to the Japanese company, there is only a limited number of Xperia S units available for purchase.

Customers who do not want to commit to a new three-year agreement from Rogers can purchase the smartphone for $499.99 CAD off-contract.

The Xperia S is the first to come with Sony’s logo. The smartphone is shipped with Android 2.3 Gingerbread out of the box, but the handset maker promised an Ice Cream Sandwich update would be deployed soon.

The device is powered by a dual-core processor clocked at 1.5 GHz and packs 32GB along with 1GB of RAM. There’s also an enhanced 12-megapixel rear camera with autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording.
