Before the end of this year, Japanese mobile phone maker Sony Mobile should make official a new smartphone powered by Google’s Android operating system, one that has been spotted online a few times before under the codename of Honami.

The phone can now be seen in new leaked photos.

Available courtesy of Gadget Helpline, the new photos show a device resembling a lot the Xperia Z, which suggests that it will be released as the successor of the company’s current flagship handset, as XperiaBlog notes.

The yet unannounced device is also rumored to land on the market with a 20-megapixel photo snapper on the back, and might be called Xperia i1 when made official.

Previous rumors on this device suggested that Sony was set to make it official before the end of the third quarter, so stay tuned to learn more on it.
