The company will start pushing it out in a matter of weeks

Today, Sony Mobile has officially confirmed on Twitter the upcoming availability of a new software update for the owners of Xperia S, SL, and acro S devices.

The company did not provide specific info on what the upcoming release will bring along, but it did say that a changelog would be published shortly. The update should start rolling out to the aforementioned smartphones in a matter of weeks.

Still based on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, the upcoming software upgrade should provide users with various fixes and improvements, and might also bring along some new features to their handsets.
