Sony is reportedly gearing up for the release of a successor for its Tablet S device, one that would carry the model number SGPT1211.

No official announcement on the matter was made for the time being, but the device in question has made an appearance over at the FCC (Federal Communications Commission), where it received the necessary approvals.

The listing confirms that we’re looking at a tablet PC made by Sony, with the aforementioned model number attached to it, but no other details on it were made available.

Sony’s Tablet S has proved popular around the world, and Sony would have all the reasons to bring a successor to it to shelves in the near future, that’s for sure.

However, as XperiaBlog puts it, there’s no telling on whether the device will actually be made, nor when it might arrive on shelves.
