Android gamers rejoice, as SEGA has just announced that its popular Sonic Racing Transformed game is now available for free in the Google Play Store.

Sonic & All Star Racing Transformed was previously priced at $4.99, but recently got dropped to 0$. However, those who bought the game before SEGA made it free will receive the VIP Pass at no extra cost. The VIP Pass includes 4 bonus characters that players can use to race with.

Since it’s now free to play, Sonic & All Star Racing Transformed features in-app purchases that will help players advance more quickly in the game, but it’s up to you if you wish to buy any currency with real money.

Aside from making the game free, SEGA has also added some major stability improvements, which will lower the number of crashes, or remove them altogether.

In addition, controller support has been improved. According to SEGA, those who own Moga controllers should set them to channel B and once paired, go to Options / Game Options and select External Controller controls.

You can now download Sonic & All Star Racing Transformed for Android for free via Google Play Store. Keep in mind that the game should be fully compatible with most devices powered by Android 4.0 and up.
