In addition to upgrading its Samsung Epic 4G and HTC EVO 4G smartphones, Sprint also announced new software being pushed out to its HTC EVO Design 4G devices.

The new firmware, set to bring the software version on this smartphone up to 2.12.651.5, will deliver a series of security improvements, as well as updated Peep client (to align with Twitter) and Sprint Zone client.

Moreover, the new software will bring some improvements to the handset’s battery life, along with 3LM Enterprise Tool Access (no user interface changes).

The update will start to pour in on devices on January 24th. It will be released in stages, which means that not all users will get a taste of it right away.

Sprint will notify users on the availability of the new software. Additional info on the update can be found on the carrier's support website.
