We reported over the weekend that the beta version of Xbox One SmartGlass app for Android devices has been updated with a few new features and improvements, and now it looks like the Windows Phone app is getting the same treatment.

However, the Windows Phone app received a lot more improvements and new features than the Android version, which is to be expected given that more Windows Phone users are likely to own an Xbox One.

Anyway, the most important change seems to be the fact that SmartGlass users can now purchase Xbox One games and DLCs directly from their Windows Phone handsets.

In addition, developers also added a few new features such as the option to like a Game Clip or an item in the activity feed. With the latest version of Xbox One SmartGlass, users will be able to view items that have been shared with them from a message. You can also browse for recent and popular games and DLCs.

Obviously, some bug fixes, as well as general stability and polish improvements have also been included in the update, but no additional details have been provided.

You can now download Xbox One SmartGlass for Windows Phone 1.0.5.0 for free via Windows Phone Store. The application should be fully compatible with all devices powered by Windows Phone 8 and up.
