Skype has made quite a few announcements in the last couple of days, including the fact that it won't release a universal app. Today, the company has revealed that the Windows Phone application has been updated with some new visual changes and bug fixes.

According to developers, the new Skype for Windows Phone features a new and compact design that should make it easier for users to navigate the app's UI.

In addition, Skype has also confirmed that the update should also implement some general improvements and fixes, but no additional details on any of them have been shared yet.

These are all the changes included in this update, but we expect Microsoft to continue to add new features and improvements to Skype for Windows Phone.

You can now download Skype for Windows Phone 2.29.0.3 for free via Windows Phone Store. The application should be fully compatible with all devices powered by Windows Phone 8 and up.

Keep in mind that, in order to ensure the best quality experience, the application needs at least 512MB of RAM, but that shouldn't be a problem for Windows Phone handsets now available on the market.

Also, make sure that you have an unlimited data plan or a Wi-Fi connection when using Skype, so you can get the best experience.
