South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung Electronics is reportedly gearing up for enhancing the security of its smartphones, and might include fingerprint protection inside them as part of these plans, rumor has it.

Apparently, the company is already testing the feature, as a recently leaked Galaxy S III firmware was found to pack application files that pointed at that.

According to a recent article on SamMobile, Samsung might plan on packing the feature inside future Galaxy smartphones, and could tie it to the home button, as the photos find inside said firmware unveil.

However, with no official confirmation on the matter available as of now, it remains to be seen whether such security feature will indeed make it inside future Samsung handsets, so keep an eye on this space for more details on the matter.
