South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung Electronics has received a trademark for the Galaxy Round name, which is expected to be used for its first smartphone with a curved screen.

The smartphone might become official as soon as this week, and it has already been rumored to arrive on shelves under the name of Galaxy Round.

The United States Patent and Trademark Office granted the trademark for said name last week, just in time for the company’s official unveiling, it seems.

The mobile phone is said to arrive on the market with a 5.7-inch curved screen, though the phone won’t be flexible, meaning that users won’t be able to actually bend it.

The handset is also rumored to feature an 8-megapixel camera on the back, as well as Google’s Android 4.3 Jelly Bean operating system on top, as Phone Arena notes.
