South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung Electronics is nearing the availability of the successor of their Samsung Galaxy S II smartphone.

The handset has already been confirmed, though no info on it has been made official as of now. Rumor has it that it might be released as Galaxy S III, and that it will sport a quad-core CPU, along with a 4.8-inch screen.

Apparently, the new device is expected to make a splash, and Samsung’s carriers and retail partners are already anticipating that.

Clearly, this should be the reason for which they ordered a great number of units from Samsung. The vendor reportedly registered record orders for the upcoming mobile phone, and has already kicked off production.

It seems that all is put in order for the big launch, though it still remains to be seen when that will happen. Samsung promised the first half of this year, but did not unveil more beyond that.
