Samsung is trying to sell a few more Galaxy S5

Samsung is busy preparing the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge launch which is scheduled to make an official debut during a press event in Barcelona at MWC 2015 on March 1.

But as the Galaxy S6’s launch party nears, we can’t help but think of the soon-to-be previous flagship, the Galaxy S5. And Samsung can’t either.

Actually, a week ahead of Barcelona, the Korean tech giant is taking the opportunity to remind us the Galaxy S5 is still available for purchase, as it continues to be “irresistible” and “water resistant.”

Given that rumors circling around the web claim that the Galaxy S6 won’t probably be water-resistant, you might want to give the Galaxy S5 a second thought with its IP67 certification and all (includes dust-proofing qualities).

The commercial below was aired on ABC during the 87th Academy Awards ceremony, so it got a lot of prime time.

It’s pretty obvious that Samsung still has some Galaxy S5 phones in its inventory and is looking to get rid of them before the Galaxy S6 comes along. But if that’s the case, why aren't we seeing a price cut too? We will probably, soon enough.

But for the time being you’ll still have to pull about 500 bucks out of your wallet to get an unlocked version of the phone in the US.

Sadly, given that the Galaxy S6 is expected to be the messiah of all phones, we’re not very convinced Samsung will end up selling a lot of Galaxy S5s.
