Developers can start building custom software for these devices

This week, South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung started to deliver the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich software update to more of its Galaxy S II users, including those who own a Galaxy S II Skyrocket at AT&T or an Epic 4G Touch on Sprint’s network.

Following the release, Samsung also pushed out the source code for these updates, so that people could have a better look at what they have to offer.

Those who head over to Samsung’s Open Source website will find source code for the FF18 update that is currently delivered to Sprint’s Galaxy S II, Epic 4G Touch, as well as the code for Galaxy S II Skyrocket’s new firmware.

The availability of these files should provide developers with the possibility to come up with custom software for both devices.
