Samsung has found an interested way of marketing the Galaxy S 4 smartphone in Zurich, by having users stare at the device for sixty minutes to get a discount when purchasing it or to receive a free handset.

Galaxy S 4 comes to the market with a Smart Pause function that works by tracking a user’s eye movement, and the promotion was built around this functionality, as can be seen in the video above.

The longer a person managed to stare at the device, the larger was the discount received when purchasing the phone through Swisscomm, its marketing partner for the phone, as esphoneblog notes. A Galaxy S 4 was awarded to a person staring at the phone for 60 minutes.

“Find out how people in Zurich used their eyes to win a Samsung Galaxy S4 of their own. Its inbuilt Smart Pause function means the S4 knows when someone is looking at it. The longer a participant stares at the screen, the bigger the discount is,” Swisscomm explains in the video’s description.
