Initially slated for a December release, it appears that the Samsung Galaxy Xcover has been delayed in the UK. For the time being, the reasons behind the delay are unknown, but the only retailer that takes pre-order for the smartphone states that it will be available in early January 2012.

Unveiled back in August, the unlocked Galaxy Xcover smartphone can now be pre-order in the UK via retailer Handtec for £224.39 (350 USD or 265 EUR).

The rugged Gingerbread smartphone comes with a 3.65-inch capacitive touchscreen display with Corning Gorilla Glass, 150 MB storage, 512 MB RAM, microSD support, 800 MHz CPU, and dual camera.

In the same news, the orange flavor of the Samsung Galaxy Xcover has just been introduced in the Netherlands and is available for purchase for a suggested retail price of 300 EUR (390 USD).
