The Galaxy S5 has already received Android 5.0 Lollipop update, but everyone is now waiting for Google to release Android M.

However, until then, Samsung Galaxy S5 will get another OS upgrade, which is supposed to fix some of the issues that were brought in Android 5.0 Lollipop.

The memory leak issue and battery drainage problems that most Galaxy S5 owners complain about will hopefully be addressed in Android 5.1 Lollipop update.

Today, US-based carrier Verizon Wireless has kicked off the rollout of a minor update for Samsung Galaxy S5, which is not Android 5.1 Lollipop though.

According to the official changelog, the “GALAXY Apps” apps store will be auto-installed on the Samsung Galaxy S5. Also, the update will bring the option to use Fingerprint Scanner for unlocking Microsoft Exchange accounts.

The update is pushed OTA (over the air) in stages, so it might take up to a few days to reach all Samsung Galaxy S5 units. Keep in mind that the update is only available for the Verizon Galaxy S5 devices.

These are all the changes included in this update, so until Samsung releases Android 5.1 Lollipop, enjoy your Galaxy S5 with the new features added with this update.
