The handset is expected to be officially unveiled during a May 28 press event

Samsung’s latest series of Android smartphones, the Galaxy Mega, is expected to make an official debut in India on May 28, the latest reports on the matter suggest.

The company has already sent out press invites for the event, stating that a “mega launch of newest Galaxy” is being prepared.

According to AndroidOS, the company will officially launch the Galaxy Mega 5.8 smartphone in the country tomorrow, with a price tag of INR 25,999 ($467 / €361).

Packing a 5.8-inch qHD screen, the smartphone arrives on shelves with a 1.4GHz dual-core processor inside, 1.5GB of RAM, an 8-megapixel photo snapper on the back, and a 1.9MP front camera.

It also arrives with dual-SIM capabilities, 8GB of internal memory, a microSD memory card slot, a 2600 mAh battery, and Google’s Android 4.2 Jelly Bean platform loaded on top.
