Although we have hoped that Samsung will launch the Galaxy Ace 2 next month, it appears that O2 won’t be able to release the smartphone until May.

SoMobile reports that the Galaxy Ace 2 is now on “Coming Soon” page at O2 UK with a May release tag attached to it. It’s unclear if this is Samsung’s fault or the carrier thought it would be able to offer the phone earlier than expected.

Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 is currently available for pre-order in the UK via multiple carrier and retailers. All are offering the smartphone for free on select plans from various operators.

The Galaxy Ace 2 is the first Android-based phone to come with an under 1 GHz dual-core process. The phone is equipped with an 800 MHz dual-core CPU and packs 768 MB of RAM and 4GB onboard memory.
