HDR-like technology allows app to take multiple shots to achieve composite image

A new Android app by software developer Scalado promises to do your photos justice by enabling you to remove unwanted objects, including people.

The app couldn’t be simpler. Take a photo of anything (i.e. a crowded place) using Remove. The app detects objects in the background and makes them easily selectable and deletable. The image above explains the process using zero words.

Its functionality is similar to that of HDR technology. Remove takes several photographs in a row as the camera goes off. It then uses the processing power of the iPhone to quickly analyze them and build a composite image. It is this final image that becomes highly editable, allowing users to remove objects at will.

Scalado plans to unveil Remove at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona later this month.
