Qualcomm is getting ready for the release of a new mobile system on a chip, one that has already made an appearance on Nenamark website.

Dubbed Snapdragon S4 MSM8960, the new application processor was already benchmarked, and it appears to be offering great performance capabilities.

The chip packs a 1.5GHz processor inside, complemented by an Adreno 225 GPU, and managed to score 54.9 fps in this benchmark. The SoC was put inside an unannounced device running Android 4.0.3 and boasting a 1024 x 600 pixel resolution display.

The most interesting part is that the Adreno 225 GPU managed to deliver a better score in the Nenamark benchmark when compared to the application processor inside the Galaxy S II. Samsung’s flagship device sports a 800 x 480 pixels display and the Mali-400 GPU, and scored only 50.98 fps.
