We have reported earlier today that Philips is pushing its mid-range Android smartphones in India, though we do not expect the company's devices to become too popular among consumers due to their high price tags.

Well, it looks like aside from the already announced three mid-range Android phones that should go on sale within the next few days, Philips will also launch a high-end device.

Dubbed Philips I928, the smartphone was showcased during the company launch event for the other three mid-range devices that we have reported on earlier today.

According to AndroidOS, Philips did not disclose any details regarding the I920 release date and price tag in India, but it did mention that it would be available beginning early next month.

Philips I928 is equipped with a “true” octa-core MediaTek processor clocked at 1.7GHz, which is complemented by 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory.

The phone's storage can be further expanded up to 32GB via microSD card. The smartphone offers dual-SIM support and comes packed with a 13-megapixel photo snapper on the back and a no less impressive 5-megapixel camera in the front for video calls and selfies.

Another major selling point of the I928 would be the huge 6-inch full HD (1080p) capacitive touchscreen display. Other highlights of the phone include 3G HSPA, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS with A-GPS support. The bad news is that Philips I928 will be powered by Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean platform.
