Pantech is yet another South Korean mobile phone maker reportedly gearing up for the launch of a new flagship smartphone in the not too distant future, in an attempt to increase its market presence.

According to the latest reports on the matter, the company is getting ready for the launch of a Pantech Vega Iron 2 handset soon, and it would also aim at picking on Galaxy S5 with it.

Last year, the vendor released its Vega Iron smartphone to compete with Galaxy S4, and it should make a similar move this year. Info coming from ZDNet Korea suggests that the mobile phone would be set for launch sometime in April, around the same time that the Galaxy S5 arrives.

The device should hit the market with a metal body and with a fingerprint scanner, and it might even feature a Quad HD touchscreen display, phoneArena notes. However, no official confirmation on the matter has been provided as of now.
