During the Panasonic Convention 2012, the Japanese company officially announced its entrance on the European smartphone market with Panasonic Eluga.

Unfortunately, details on Panasonic Eluga’s specs sheet are scarce at the moment, but the company promised to publish the phone’s full specs tomorrow.

However, there are some things that have been confirmed, such as the 4.3-inch qHD capacitive touchscreen supporting 540 x 960 pixels resolution.

In addition, the smartphone is expected to support NFC (Near Field Communications) and it will be powered by Android platform, though we’re not sure whether the phone will come with Ice Cream Sandwich at launch or with a previous version of Google’s operating system.

It is also worth mentioning that Panasonic Eluga features a waterproof and dustproof body and will be very light, at only 103g (battery included). The phone is expected to arrive in Europe sometime in March.
