Oppo is prepping the Lollipop update for its phones

We just told you a few hours ago that Oppo released a video showing its ColorOS 2.1 version, which is based on Android 5.0 Lollipop.

The new software version will be released soon, but in the meantime, the Chinese device maker also quietly listed on its official website a new device, the Neo 5s.

The new phone is probably a refreshed version of the Neo 5 that launched last year. Its specs are pretty low, so don’t expect anything too grand here.

The Neo 5s comes with a 4.5-inch IPS display with 854 x 480 pixel resolution and draws life from a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor working hand in hand with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage (expandable via microSD card slot up to 128GB).

The handset also boasts an 8MP frontal camera with Pure Image 2.0, LED flash and autofocus, while the frontal snapper is of the 2MP variety.

Other features include a microSD card slot, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and USB OTG. The phone runs Android 4.4 KitKat under the hood, so we have to suppose Oppo will roll out the Lollipop update for it at some point in the future.

Oppo Neo 5s is already available for purchase in some markets with a price tag of €160 / $182.
