Last week, Oppo introduced one of the first smartphones to boast a 2K display and confirmed that the device would go on pre-order sometime next month.

Along with the Oppo 7, the Chinese company announced a slightly downgraded version that would come with a full HD (1080p) display, the Oppo 7a.

The handset maker confirmed that the first to go on sale would be the Oppo 7a, followed shortly by its flagship smartphone, the Oppo 7. True to its promise, Oppo has announced that it will start taking pre-orders for the international version of Oppo 7a beginning April 7.

As Intomobile points out, the Chinese company did not unveil any details regarding the phone’s availability and price tag. However, we expect more details to emerge in the coming days, so stay tuned for more on this one.

For those unfamiliar with the device, Oppo 7a is equipped with a powerful 2.3GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, an Adreno 330 graphics processing unit and 2GB of RAM.

As we have mentioned earlier, the smartphone sports a 5.5-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution and features Corning Gorilla Glass coating.

It is also worth mentioning that Oppo 7a will ship with the company’s proprietary Color 1.2.0 OS, which is based on Google’s Android 4.3 Jelly Bean operating system.
